In my efforts to better communicate the refugee experience, I have been documenting refugee entrepreneurs, their families, and their community through the lens of a self starter. Having a job or business is such a major part of normalcy, dignity, and purpose. As I’ve started to document refugees through an activity they are proud of, I get a glimpse of who they were in their past life, before the crisis, mixed with their current circumstances.
